Brief History
College Point Ambulance

The College Point Community Ambulance Corps is an all-volunteer service and provides free emergency care and transportation to all residents, visitors and employees of College Point (Queens), NY. The squad is certified by the New York State Department of Health as an ambulance service. Our new, state of the art ambulance is staffed by New York State Emergency Medical Technicians. In addition to our ambulance service, the Corps also loans, free of charge, wheelchairs, walkers, crutches, etc. to the residents of College Point. The squad provides free CPR training to businesses and organizations in College Point. The Corps provides an ambulance to standby at community events.

The College Point Community Volunteer Ambulance Corps proudly protects 22,000 people living in an area of 2 square miles.  We operate out of our own headquarters and protect a commercial/residential area.  Our service is a private department whose members are on a volunteer status.

The Corps was founded in 1941 by College Point residents who were concerned about the availability of ambulance service to the community.  We are known as New York City's first volunteer ambulance squad and the second oldest in New York State.

The Corps is an active member in the following organizations:

o             District 18 - NYSVARA

o             New York State Volunteer Ambulance & Rescue Association (NYSVARA)
